Principles
The STM Act (1943, 2001 Revised) states the primary function of STM:
The primary role of the corporation is to operate a Catholic college that is federated with the University of Saskatchewan and is a place where students may obtain a liberal education in the arts and sciences or in any other useful branch of learning and to promote the study, practice and knowledge of those arts and sciences.
STM's financial and administrative support staff are committed to supporting and enhancing the teaching, research and community service mission of STM by:
- proactively taking measures and precautionary actions to ensure the safety and security of students, staff and the community using STM premises to live, study, work, and attend functions;
- demonstrating the highest level of competence, integrity, and accountability in providing quality financial and administrative services to the College;
- setting annual and long-term goals, and establishing measures of performance with an objective of continuous improvement in the quality of services provided;
- ensuring compliance and adherence to legislation, regulations, stated organizational values, service unit accountabilities, and position profiles by communicating organizational policies and procedures
- developing and sustaining an organizational planning system to protect and enhance the human, financial and physical well-being of the organization and its members.
