About

Newman Sounds is the Glee Club at St. Thomas More College, directed by Kristen Raney and accompanied by Ian Elliott.  Our high energy shows feature choral pop, rock, and Broadway music.  In our current format the club has been around since 2011, but its history dates all the way back to the 1950’s.

We perform two shows a year and meet every Wednesday from 7:00-10:00PM in the Father O’Donnel Auditorium (STM 140) at the College of St. Thomas More.  We are a non-auditioned group open to any U of S Student.

During your time in Newman Sounds you will sing, dance, and be stretched as a performer.  We hope you will make friends for life and enjoy everything St. Thomas More has to offer.

“Being a part of this club has changed my life in more ways than one. I’ve made so many wonderful friendships and memories that I will hold close to my heart for years to come. I have grown so much not only as a singer and performer but also as a person, and for that I am forever grateful!”–Shana Yates, member from 2011 to 2016
