St. Thomas More College provides students  with an 8-week international community service learning experience. Students have the opportunity to gain university credit in Political Studies or Religious Studies while living with and learning from communities in Latin America. The program is open to university students aged 18 to 30. Any U of S Student can apply!

In the winter term, students take their choice of one of these classes:

RLST 277: Community, Solidarity, and Social Change. This course maps a variety of religious and spiritual perspectives on community, solidarity and social change. It will take a cross-disciplinary approach, which does not assume faith-commitments on the part of students, to explore concepts and practices related to community, solidarity and social change.

In the summer term, students take RLST 377: Living Community, Solidarity, and Social Change class that calls upon the knowledge they gained in their winter term class as they apply it to their immersive service-learning placement in the Dominican Republic or Ecuador.

If you are interested in applying to the St. Thomas More Intercordia Program, or would like more information, please contact the Engaged Learning Coordinator at For information on the Religious Studies course, please contact Chris Hrynkow at
