‘After a Long Winter’ by Michelle Yuzdepski

Meet artist Michelle Yuzdepski on Sunday May 5 from 1 to 3 pm
as we celebrate her exhibition,  ‘After a Long Winter’  which continues until June 28.  Please note our gallery hours between May – August are
Monday – Friday from 8am until 5pm.

An excerpt from the exhibition:

My work also centers on the quote “The eyes are the window to the soul”. The eyes of the moths and butterflies are important to my work as these depict our human soul, and the circles throughout the pieces are the experiences and encounters we have or leave with each other that nurture our souls and help us grow.

My artwork has become less about the moths and butterflies themselves, but about soul and the ability to see through a window where God resides in us.

I hope my work also holds the more common message often attributed to the moth and butterfly – they are symbols of transformation. I hope these works remind their audience that we are continuously transforming and becoming new again. We should embrace our connections with others as we transform, be grateful for them and make the best of each of these connections.
