There has always been a need for the STM library

"One of the main advantages for a college federated with a large university is in the area of library resources.  Because STM students and faculty are able to use the extensive resources of the University library, Shannon Library funds can be used for books and materials which reflect the particular interests and requirements of the College and for the development of special collections which the University libraries would not be inclined to establish. In turn, non-STM students and faculty are able to make use of the resources of the STM Library. The Shannon Library also serves as a resource library for the non-University community of Saskatchewan, and its holdings are accessible to other areas of Canada through interlibrary loans." - Margaret Sanche (Heartwood)
