STM’s third annual GSCS Student Art Exhibition was held May 28, celebrating the works of 30 grade 12 student artists from the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools. The STM recruitment and community engagement initiative builds on the relationship with Saskatoon Catholic schools, celebrating the talents of the students, with the reception evening welcoming teachers, students and their extended families into the college - for an evening of art appreciation, recognition, developing new friendships, and discovering future post-secondary opportunities.

The evening included time for the Gallery viewing followed by greetings and a reception in STM's expanded Shannon library. Jacquie Berg, Director of Communications, Marketing and Student Recruitment, spoke to the way artists explore everyday items in new ways - a quality understood and valued in the Catholic intellectual tradition, which encourages a climate of creative dialogue to investigate new ideas and to question assumptions. Linda Huard, Recruitment Officer and Academic Advisor for STM, shared with the attendees her journey into University and insight into the many opportunities at STM, inviting the students to make our college their home on campus.

Each featured artist received a gift from the college, recognizing their participation in this valued initiative.
