  • George and Marsha Ivany President’s First & Best Scholarships - Value: $40,000 ($10,000/year over four years)
  • Chancellors’ Scholarships - Value: $30,000 ($7,500/year over four years)
  • U of S Entrance Scholarships - Value: $24,000 ($6,000/year over four years) (these are not the guaranteed entrance scholarships)

NOTE The Student Book Award is meant to recognize outstanding high school achievement and to support the academic work of entering students. Students who are eligible for this award are not eligible for any STM Entering Student scholarships, but can apply for STM Entering Student Bursaries.

Wolfe Family General Achievement Entrance Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY Student must:

  • have achieved an admission average of 90% or greater
  • be a resident of Saskatchewan
  • have graduated from a Saskatchewan high school
  • provide documentation (the “Documentation”) attesting to:
    • having devoted an average of at least 2 hours weekly over 40 weeks during the prior year to compassionate activity(ies), including but not limited to: assistance to or visiting of isolated aged, weak, infirm or handicapped persons in their homes or community residence; or tutorial assistance to socially disadvantaged or physically handicapped children; or community service, together with two testimonials to this effect
    • having devoted an average of at least 2 hours weekly over 40 weeks during the prior year to participation in individual or team sports and/or athletics, together with two testimonials to this effect

SELECTION CRITERIA Selection will be made on the basis of academic achievement and submitted Documentation in a weighting of 70% academics, 15% compassionate activity and 15% sports or athletic activity, as determined by the Scholarships and Awards Committee.

As a condition of accepting this award, recipients will be required to authorize the Scholarships and Awards Committee to release such information as is allowed by current University policies and existing privacy legislation.

NOTE Renewable up to 3 years

Renewal Criteria:

As determined by the Scholarships and Awards Committee, students receiving an award will be eligible to have their award renewed annually up to three times, provided they:

  1. achieve an academic average of at least 80%;
  2. provide a personal statement of less than 250 words outlining their academic progress, University experience and career objectives;
  3. are full-time students; and
  4. continue to be involved in both compassionate and sports or physical activities, as demonstrated by the submission of the requisite Documentation confirming same as set out above.

  • have a minimum school average of 80% or be maintaining an honours grade point average

Ukrainian Self Reliance Association/TYC – Steppe Branch Ukrainian Language Awards

ELIGIBILITY Student must:

  • maintain a minimum of an 80% average in the course related to the award

PREFERENCE
At the request of the donor, preference will be given to candidates who self-identify as Ukrainian Orthodox.

Northern Indigenous Student Access Bursary

In January 2016, STM hosted a dialogue featuring Marie Battiste, Verna St. Denis, Erica Violet Lee, and John Merasty. As a response to a recurring theme in that dialogue, the STM Working Group for Indigenous Engagement has created a Bursary Fund to support the educational experience of Indigenous students from Northern Saskatchewan who are attending St. Thomas More College.
