Dr. Peggy Schmeiser has been an Assistant Professor at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy and is currently the Associate Director at the School. She is also an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Gender, Religion, and Critical Studies at the University of Regina. She completed extensive academic training in Religious Studies in areas pertaining to culture, including a PhD and MA from the University of Ottawa and another MA in Practical Theology from St. Paul University. Dr. Schmeiser has been examining the intersections of religion, law, and governance in Canada, particularly within the context of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In addition, her research, publications, and teaching have addressed a wide range of theoretical approaches and topics relating to the study of religion and culture including with respect to gender and social equality, church history, anthropology, science and innovation, and popular culture.
