Feast Day chance to forge connections

The STM College community celebrated the Feast Day of it's namesake with members of the L'Arche Saskatoon homes.

Celebrating with food and friendship is just how we do things at STM, according to Gertrude Rompre, Director of Mission and Ministry.
That was certainly the case on Wednesday, June 5 when staff and faculty of the College got together with guests from L'Arche Saskatoon to mark the Feast Day for St. Thomas More in the Choices dining room with an indoor barbecue, music and games.
L'Arche Saskatoon is a non-profit community partner of STM's Service and Justice Project, providing invaluable opportunities for our participating students to experience volunteerism while meeting community needs. L'Arche operates two homes in Saskatoon which blend people with and without disabilities. Celebrating it's 11th year in the city, the group's mission is to 'Make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities, revealed through mutually tranforming relationship.'
It has become a tradition to celebrate Feast Day together, and it was another great event with the STM community enjoying the company of L'Arche staff, volunteer and residents for hamburgers, smokies and salads provided by Executive Chef Chris Jones.
Afterward, festivities included live music and the popular Summer Fun Game Show.
