STM’s annual Corporation meeting was held Saturday, October 24, 2020 in a virtual format due to Covid-19 precautions.

The STM Distinguished Alumni Award is awarded annually at this event to each a female and a male graduate of St. Thomas More College (STM) whose lifetime accomplishments and achievements have been outstanding, who have made a significant contribution to their community, and who have continued to celebrate their relationship with STM since their graduation.

Carl Still, President of St. Thomas More College, announced the 2020 STM Distinguished Alumni – Richard Lucas and Mary Donlevy-Konkin – to the virtual audience, promising “when we can, we will honour them in the way that we have recognized all the other Distinguished Alumni, at a public event, with their families.”

Richard Lucas, the STM Distinguished Alumnus for 2020 is of the Class of 1989. Richard has just retired from a 30-year career in Catholic education in the Lloydminster Catholic School Division. He has served as a teacher, a cooking educator, and a faith integration specialist. Upon retiring, Lucas began a new adventure as an ordained Deacon in the Diocese of Prince Albert.

The STM Distinguished Alumna for 2020 is Mary Donlevy-Konkin Q.C. of the Class of 1982. Recognized for numerous professional accomplishments since she completed her BA and law degrees, Mary is presently Senior Counsel at McKercher law firm in Saskatoon and was honoured with a Queen’s Counsel appointment in 2014; in the Government of Saskatchewan, held various roles including Chief of Staff to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General, and Chief of Staff to the Minister of Advanced Education, Employment and Immigration. She serves in a governance role in Catholic health care and previously served on STM’s Board of Governors. Today Donlevy-Konkin serves as the STM College Society representative on Corporation.
