Pre-Professional Studies at STM

Students in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources (Usask) can take the following STM classes as part of their programs:
  • English language writing requirement (One class from: CPSJ 203.3 or English 111.3 or 112.3 or 113.3 or 114.3 or HIST 115.3 or PHIL 120.3 or 121.3 or 133.3 or 208.3 or RLST 362.3)
  • Humanities or Social Science or Fine Arts requirements (ANTH, ENG, FREN, HIST, LATN, LIT, PHIL, POLS, PSY, RLST, SPAN, SOC, UKR)

  • You can prepare for admission to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) through 3 full years of study at St. Thomas More College and the University of Saskatchewan. There are no specific prerequisite courses for admission to CMCC, but you can follow the Pre-Medicine Pathway.

  • Admission to the College of Dentistry (Doctor of Medical Dentistry) requires 3 full years of university courses including several specific prerequisite courses. Applicants must be working toward an undergraduate degree.

  • You can complete your required 6 credits of humanities or social sciences through St. Thomas More College.

  • Admission to the B.Sc. (Nutr.) program requires 30 credit units of prerequisite courses that can be completed in one year. 

  • You can complete your English, psychology or sociology, and electives requirements with the following STM classes:
    • 2 from ENG 111, 112, 113, 114
    • 2 from PSY 120, 121, SOC 111, 112
    • 2 open electives that should be chosen based on your interest and aptitude

  • Admission of the Master of Physical Therapy program requires completion of a four-year bachelor’s degree in any subject and specific prerequisite classes (anatomy, physiology, Indigenous studies, psychology, social sciences or humanities, and statistics)

  • The Philosophy Department at STM offers the academic program component of the Benedict and Scholastica Formation Program – Diocese of Saskatoon for people discerning ordained ministry, consecrated vocations, or lay ministry with the Catholic Church.

  • A similar pre-theology program can be tailored for other Christian denominations

  • A bachelor’s degree in philosophy is recommended. A bachelor’s in religious studies may also be appropriate.  This prepares a student for a Master of Divinity or Master of Theology program.

  • The Certificate in Catholic Studies is also recommended for students seeking to work in ministry with the Catholic Church.
