STM Corporation Members gather to review 2024-2025 academic year
The St. Thomas More College (STM) Annual meeting serves as an important component of the College’s governance
By Cameron Choquette“As a federated College, STM sits in the exciting but challenging space between the University and the Church. Those two relationships – with USask and the Catholic Church, held in creative tension – shape the way we think about, define, and live out the Catholicism of STM.” President Carl Still
STM’s annual meeting of Corporation was held on Saturday November 1st with over 50 individuals from across Saskatchewan.
Corporation members include tenured faculty members, appointees from each of Saskatchewan’s Roman Catholic Dioceses and the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy, as well as members-at-large, students, alumni representatives, and some members of the College’s senior administrative team.
The meeting included a variety of reports, most notably the 2024-25 annual report that was presented by President Carl Still, Dean Tammy Marche, Chief Operating Officer Derrin Raffey, and Director of Mission & Ministry Gertrude Rompré. They highlighted the College’s significant achievements in each of the five College Plan priorities, which demonstrates the hard work of faculty, staff, and students.

Participants discussed current examples of how AI is and isn’t being used in the College and how policies co-created with faculty and administration will be important as the AI landscape changes.
After many months of consultation and internal discussions, President Carl Still and Director of Strategic Initiatives Cameron Choquette presented the renewed 2030 College Plan, that includes the following priorities:
- Vital Liberal Arts
- Hospitable Catholicism
- Engaged Indigenization
- Holistic Community
The renewed plan charts the College’s path from now until 2030 and includes 12 unique goals for the College to achieve in the next five years. Stay tuned for an official launch of the 2030 College Plan in the coming months!
Corporation's primary role is to ensure the operation of the Catholic college that is federated with the University of Saskatchewan and serves as a place where students may obtain a liberal education in the arts and sciences. It provides a window on the College for the Catholic community of Saskatchewan and our many partners in the work of higher education.
This annual meeting serves as an important component of the College’s governance and ensures that the College is operating in accordance with its mission, vision, and values.
